Wholesale Prices for Cartoned Shell Eggs Rise

This week’s Legacy Market News Update features key information regarding various food industries. Here are some important points to keep in mind:

EGGS: Wholesale prices for cartoned shell eggs continued to rise through the week as marketer efforts to procure sufficient stocks to satisfy increased demand from the retail sector were met with limited offerings held with confidence. Consumer demand for shell eggs reversed direction over the past week and declined in a pattern more reminiscent of 2020 when demand struggled in the weeks preceding the COVID-19 outbreak.

FLOUR: Wheat will continue to follow momentum of corn and soybean values as we progress into new crop sales. Wheat markets continue to trade on Chinese import numbers and Russian wheat export taxes.

BUTTER: Butter prices have mostly decreased this week. Current average price is $1.25 each.
