EGGS: Wholesale prices for cartoned shell eggs steadied before moving higher at the close of the week. Supplies are light to moderate and business is focused on restocking following Easter movement. Offerings are light, interest is moderate to good and trading is moderate. Wholesale prices for graded loose eggs are holding steady as marketers work to restock amid a very competitive spot market. Offerings are light with light to moderate supplies and good interest.
WHEAT: May options in the grains expire this Friday. Winter wheat crop conditions were 30% good-excellent compared to last week which was 32% good to excellent and last year which was 53%. Analysts had expected a slight increase to 33%. Spring planting was estimated at 8% planted compared to last week which was at 6% planted and last year was 18%. Analysts had anticipated we would be slightly higher at 9%.
